In a significant event underscoring cultural unity and diplomatic bonds, the Lagos state government hosted the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency, Olaf Scholz, on October 30, 2023. This occasion reaffirmed the enduring warmth between Germany and Nigeria and marked a historic milestone in their longstanding relationship.
Chancellor Scholz’s visit went beyond routine diplomatic discussions; it sought to strengthen the bilateral relations that have flourished for over 60 years. Construction Kaiser Limited (CKL) also
played a pivotal role in this endeavour. The focal point of the chancellor’s visit was the exploration of the John Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History.
Accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Chancellor Scholz toured the remarkable John Randle Center—a project proudly executed by Construction Kaiser Limited. CKL’s team members were also present at this event.
Notably, the CEO of Construction Kaiser Limited, Igbuan Okaisabor, who also holds the position of President at the Nigerian-German Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Chancellor Scholz at the opening session of a Nigeria-Germany Business Conference organized by the Chamber.
In his welcome address, Engr Okaisabor emphasized the need to bolster collaboration between Nigeria and Germany, highlighting the pivotal role of such partnerships in facilitating trade and fostering innovation—crucial elements for driving both economies forward.
