Construction Kaiser Limited Reinforces its Commitment to Local Content Development as it Celebrates its 30th Anniversary
Construction Kaiser Limited (CKL), a renowned indigenous building and civil engineering construction company, proudly commemorates its 30-year anniversary while further solidifying its dedication to local content development within the industry.
Since its establishment on June 15, 1993, CKL has emerged as a prominent player in the construction sector, undertaking residential, commercial, and industrial engineering projects across various geopolitical zones in Nigeria. This milestone anniversary serves as a testament to CKL’s unwavering vision of being an innovative, solution-driven, and value-creating construction service provider, actively contributing to the development of the Nigerian environment.
To mark this significant occasion, CKL celebrated its anniversary with a momentous graduation ceremony for the first cohort of its Graduate Entrepreneurial Scheme. This initiative, operated under the auspices of the Kaiser Foundation for Social Development, empowers aspiring entrepreneurs in the construction industry through comprehensive training.
and mentorship programs. The graduates, who completed a nine-month internship at CKL and received entrepreneurship training at the prestigious Lagos Business School, have been equipped with the skills and knowledge to make meaningful contributions to Nigeria’s construction landscape.
CKL’s commitment to local content development goes beyond project execution and encompasses the nurturing of ethical standards and fostering a supportive work environment. The company prides itself on upholding values such as quality, integrity, team spirit, empathy, and work-life balance. These principles have consistently propelled CKL to deliver projects of the highest caliber over the past three decades.
“Igbuan Okaisabor recognized the potential for Nigerian-owned construction companies to operate at exceptional standards while offering competitive pricing by eliminating the need for expatriate employees. Starting as a company from humble beginnings with a five-man team, CKL has grown into a national force, employing over 150 skilled professionals and delivering projects renowned for their quality.
CKL’s commitment to local content development has not only advanced the construction industry but also contributed to indigenous companies’ growth.
According to Ayuli Jemide, a member of the board of directors present at the event, “The company’s enduring success serves as an inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs, that Nigerian firms can serve as beacons of ethical standards and lead the way in the construction sector”.
Looking ahead, CKL remains steadfast in its mission to create value and inspire more Nigerians to actively participate in nation-building and infrastructure development. As the company enters its fourth decade, CKL envisions a future where local content development thrives, driving the progress of Nigeria’s construction industry.
In conclusion, Igbuan Okaisabor’s talk at the Harvard Business School Alumni event underscored the vital role of trust in leadership, particularly during challenging times. CKL’s commitment to transparency, consistency, employee empowerment, agility, technology for social good, fostering home-grown businesses, and building trust with the public sector serves as a shining example for organizations navigating uncertain times. Through these inspiring strategies, CKL continues to thrive and contribute positively to society. It sets an example for others to follow in building trust and driving success in today’s complex business landscape.
