150MW Rivers State Independent Power Plant, Civil Works (Management Construction); Civil Works

450MW National Independent Power Plant Projects (NIPP) ; Civil Works comprising of:

4 Gas Turbine / Generator pedestals each in 450cu.m of grade 40 concrete in straight pours and 52 tons of steel reinforcement;

Central Control Building on 1,050cu.m of concrete raft foundation cast in 2 straight pours;

Total concrete for project- approximately 15,200cu.m Total steel reinforcement for project- approximately 2,100 tons.

The Steel Structure canopy over the equipment is about 18m high, sitting on bored pile foundations (28m deep) and network of ground beams and stud columns. It is equipped with a ladder for access to the walkway (at about 15m). The total tonnage of steel for Block 1 is about 450 tons. It carries the overhead service crane that helps to move materials and equipment of less than 50 tons within the building, it has two lifting hooks of 40 tons and 10 tons making a total of 50 tons.

Starting form the right, we have an Auxiliary with a tonage of 450 tonnes, Turbine and Exhaust with a tonnage of about 300 tonnes and Generator of about 165 tonnes

All steel pipes are 800mm diameter

Starting clockwise from top left: Blackstart Diesel Generator (BSDG) house is on 26nos steel piles of about 19meters deep connected with network of pile caps and ground beams. Diesel Oil Station is sitting on 6 number steel piles of 23meters deep and 1no carrying the circular concrete foundation for the tank

Fire Water Tank Foundation is on 9nos steel piles of 23metres each

Service Water Tank foundation is on 5nos steel piles of 19meters each

Water Tank Foundation is on 3nos steel piles of 19 meter depth each

Central Waste Water Monitoring Basin is on 6nos steel piles. Beside this structure is oil Separation Basin is on 3nos steel piles.

MTN Switch Facilities

Client: MTN Communications Ltd. Location: Enugu, Enugu State. Consultant: FMA Architects. Work Stage: Completed in 2006.
